Stag nights, match-day stags and race-day stags
Stag Do Limo Hire Manchester
16-seat Hummers, 4×4 stretches and party buses – sixteen lads, one vehicle, one price
A Manchester stag do rarely stays in one place. It starts at a pub in Bolton or Stockport, moves to a match or the races, lands in the Northern Quarter and ends somewhere around Deansgate Locks at two in the morning. A limousine solves the part of that day nobody wants to organise – getting a large group between stops together, on time and without a fleet of taxis. This page covers the four ways Manchester stags use a limo, the vehicles that take a full group, how the price is worked out and the rules that keep the booking simple.
- Black Hummer H2 for 16
- Party bus for up to 30
- Match-day and race-day set-downs sorted
- Return collections after midnight
Four Manchester stag formats
How the limo fits the day you are planning
Old Trafford or the Etihad, then town
Pick-up from the pub at midday, drop outside the match-day cordon (Chester Road for United, Ashton New Road for City), collected after the final whistle and taken into the Northern Quarter or Deansgate. The limousine replaces the tram scrum both ways. Details on match-day limo hire.
Haydock Park or Chester, there and back
Thirty minutes to Haydock, under an hour to Chester. The limo waits through the card and brings everyone back to Manchester for the night – which is the whole point, because nobody wants to drive home from the races. See race-day limo hire.
Out at seven, back at two
The classic. Collected from one address or a hotel, a cruise through the city, dropped in the Northern Quarter, then the same vehicle back after the clubs. Booked as a return rather than seven hours, so it is cheaper than it sounds.
Go-karting, paintball or golf, then the limo into town
The group spends the afternoon at an activity in Trafford Park, Stockport or out towards Warrington; the limousine collects everyone at the end and delivers them, showered or not, to dinner in Spinningfields. One pick-up point, one drop – the simplest booking of the four.
Which vehicle takes a full stag group?
Stag parties are the one booking where the headcount usually lands between twelve and twenty, which rules out the standard 8-seat stretch and makes the choice between three vehicles.
| Vehicle | Seats | Why stags pick it | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hummer H2 – black or white | 16 | The vehicle the stag wanted. Wraparound seating, bar the length of the cabin, the loudest sound system of the three, an entrance on Peter Street. | 10.5 metres long – pick-ups from cul-de-sacs and tight pub car parks need checking. First to sell out on Saturdays. |
| Ford Excursion / Navigator / Jeep stretch | 13–16 | Same seat count as the H2 for a little less per hour. Nobody outside can tell the difference at night. | Slightly less headroom; the 16-seat Excursion is a single vehicle, the 13-seaters are more plentiful. |
| Party bus | 16–30 | Standing room, a dance floor, a proper bar and the only option when the group passes sixteen. The first venue of the night rather than the transport to it. | Not a limousine – if the stag specifically wants a Hummer photo, book the Hummer. |
If the group is eight or fewer – a smaller stag, or the groom's closest mates heading to the races – a black Lincoln or Audi Q7 stretch is the sensible booking and looks the part outside the racecourse. The classic stretch is also where Manchester limo prices start.

What a stag do limo costs in Manchester
Limo hire in Manchester starts from £365 for a one-hour classic stretch. That is the 8-seat end of the fleet; the vehicles a full stag group needs – the Hummer H2, the 4×4 stretches and the party bus – sit above it and are quoted for your date rather than from a tariff. Four things set the figure: which vehicle, how long you need it, the date, and where the day starts and ends. A one-way drop into town is the cheapest booking; a return – out early evening, back after midnight – is priced as two runs with a late-night supplement rather than as the hours in between, which usually makes it the best value for a night-out stag. Race-day and match-day bookings where the vehicle waits are quoted on the total time. Bank-holiday weekends, derby days, December and the Saturdays around big home fixtures are the dates the big vehicles are priced for the night; limo hire Manchester prices has the detail.
Split sixteen ways, the Hummer H2 is one of the cheapest seats of the whole weekend, and almost always less per head than the stretch is between eight. Tell us the realistic headcount and the budget per man, and we will say which vehicles fit under it on your date.
Best men: we know the numbers move. Quote on your realistic count, tell us the maximum, and we will hold a vehicle that covers both where we can.
Quote the stag doThe rules that keep a stag booking simple
Stag groups are good customers and we want the booking to be as easy as the hen party's. A few things are worth knowing before the day so that there are no surprises.
- Seated while moving. Sixteen seats means sixteen seated passengers; standing is for the party bus, which is built for it.
- Drinks on board are fine. Bring your own or add a package; glassware and ice are provided. Glass bottles are better left on the vehicle than taken into a stadium or racecourse.
- The chauffeur decides where the vehicle stops. A Hummer cannot pull up outside every bar; the set-downs on this page are the ones that work. Arguing the point at 1am changes nothing.
- Damage and cleaning. The booking terms cover damage and soiling, and they are enforced. In practice it is almost never an issue; it is mentioned so the best man can mention it.
- Timings are agreed in advance. A return collection at 1.30am means 1.30am at the agreed point. The chauffeur will wait a reasonable time and will call the organiser; a vehicle cannot circle Deansgate indefinitely.
- One organiser, one payment. The deposit and balance come from one person, and we quote the per-head figure so the group can be charged accurately.
Stags arriving from outside Manchester
Manchester draws stag weekends from across the North, the Midlands and further, and the booking shape changes slightly for visiting groups. The first pick-up is usually Piccadilly station or a city-centre hotel rather than a house; the limousine's main job becomes the Saturday – hotel to match or races, back to the hotel, out again in the evening. If you are staying in the centre, give us the hotel name: the Midland, the Edwardian, the Kimpton Clocktower, the Hilton Deansgate and most of the Piccadilly hotels have forecourts or bays a stretch limousine can use. Groups staying out by the Trafford Centre or at Salford Quays use the limo as the shuttle into town and back.
Whatever the format, we need the same four things to quote: the date, the realistic headcount, where the day starts and where it ends. Saturdays in summer, bank-holiday weekends and the weeks before Christmas sell out six to eight weeks ahead – the Manchester limo hire calendar shows which dates go first.

Stag do questions
Stag do limo hire Manchester FAQs
How many people can we get in one limo for a stag do?
Sixteen in a Hummer H2 or a long-wheelbase Ford Excursion, thirteen in a Navigator or Jeep stretch, and 16–30 on a party bus. Over sixteen it has to be the bus, or two vehicles.
Can the limo drop us at Old Trafford or the Etihad on a match day?
Yes – at the agreed set-down outside the closure zone (Chester Road for Old Trafford, Ashton New Road for the Etihad), with a collection point agreed for after the game. See match-day limo hire Manchester.
Can we bring our own beer?
Yes, on most vehicles, and glassware and ice are provided. Cans travel better than bottles. Alternatively add a drinks package to the quote and it is loaded before the pick-up.
Will the limo wait and bring us home?
Yes. For a night out it is booked as a return (two runs) rather than by the hour; for the races or a match the vehicle waits and the total time is quoted. Agree the collection point and time in advance and keep to it.
How much does a stag limo cost in Manchester?
Manchester limo hire starts from £365 for a one-hour stretch limousine. The 16-seat Hummers, 4×4 stretches and party buses a full stag group needs are quoted for your date, because the price depends on the vehicle, the hours, the day and the pick-up. We always quote the per-head figure alongside the total.
Is there a deposit, and what about damage?
A deposit secures the vehicle and the balance is paid before the day. The booking terms cover damage and soiling; it is rarely an issue, but the organiser should know they exist.
We are coming to Manchester for the weekend – where do you pick up?
Piccadilly or Victoria stations by arrangement, or your hotel – most city-centre hotels have forecourts a stretch limo can use. Tell us where you are staying and we will plan the collections around it.
