The single most common problem with a stretch limo booking is not the price or the colour; it is eight adults discovering on the night that an 8-seater is cosy. Licensed capacity is a maximum, measured in plain clothes. Use this as your working guide for Manchester bookings.

If your numbers are on the edge, step up a class rather than squeezing. The step from an 8-seat Lincoln to a 13-seat Navigator costs more per hour, but split across the extra passengers it comes to very little, and the night is better.

The classic saloon stretch

Traditional stretch limousines seat around eight and offer the classic layout: a long leather side seat facing a bar, mirrored or starlit ceiling, privacy glass and a partition.
